Aida Al Adawi

Aida has performed and taught thoughout the US, Canada, and South America. Her mentor and teacher. Jamila, gave her the foundation that inspired and changed the direction of her life as a classical musician to that of a Middle Eastern Artist.

Aida was a long-term member of the original Bal Anat, under the direction of Jamila, often performing as the finale dancer.  She was a primary teaching assistant for Jamila and often traveling to teach Jamila format workshops.  She also helped compile the Original Danse Oriental, the general outline of Jamila's dance format, in 1978.  When she is able to attend, Aida still joins the current Bal Anat now under the direction of Suhaila. 

Aida continues to teach, research, and document our dance form.  Living in Dearborn Michigan, she works with the largest Arabic community in the world outside the Middle East.
